WiMOSS was launched for Mobile Broadband – later 4G - services in October 2005 – initially on the Danske Telecom’s network. Today Danske Telecom has been acquired by Elro and merged with Skyline - managing in total more than 150 MHz spectrum in the 3.5 GHz range, as well as significant holdings in the 3.6, 10 and 26 GHz range.

The financial trade-off between investing and installing more Sectors/Sites vs. ability to allow a controlled and extensive overbooking is the main focus of attention for operators and also for WiMOSS.

WiMOSS Software tools optimizes the ROI of an operators Radio Access Network (RAN) by monitor, report and manage mobile data subscribers and the network performance. This is achieved by monitoring and profiling individual users’ traffic patterns and behaviour and managing system capacity accordingly, with the result of improving and maintaining perceived network performance for all users.

These activities are today a separate division under the name WiMOSS. WiMOSS support 4G operators in managing RAN performance to give their customers the best experience when delivering voice, internet and data communications services, IPTV, value added services and other supplementary services and features.
